Welcome to my website, I am Ad van Bergen, born in 1954 in Wieringerwaard, Holland.
As a child I started drawing, and at some later age painting. In those years I also did a drawing course, but never finished it. Hereafter I also did a course oil painting from Arti.
During my training at the secondary technical school I did perspective drawing, I have chosen it as examination subject, and I followed these lessons with pleasure, and good results.
After almost 30 years without drawing or painting, I recently started again with drawing and have plans to start painting also, and I intend to continue this seriously.
At the end of 2009 I followed the basic drawing and painting lessons at 't Klooster in Harderwijk, led by Carla van der Heijde. I try, and love to work with everything from pencil to oil paint; I love the old masters and realistic work.
I like drawing and painting people and/or portraits. Creating a portrait is to me seriously, and it must appear realistic. Especially the eyes play an important role; they make or break a portrait.
